Andrea Rascón (she/her/hers) has recently transitioned into a new role with KIPP Colorado Schools as the College Success and Career Advisor for the Puentes program – a program that provides support services for DACA & Undocumented students #ToAndThrough college into their careers. Being from Grand Junction, CO, she earned her B.S. in Human Services from University of Northern Colorado and M.S. in Higher Education from Penn State University. Her previous experiences include student engagement and leadership, educational equity, empowering womxn of color, and facilitation around leadership and social justice. She has earned completion credentials for LifeBound Coaching, CCA’s Inclusive Excellence Champion training, Effective Teaching Practices for the Association of College and University Educators and has also served as a cluster facilitator for LeaderShape’s LatinX Institute.
Andrea has dedicated her career to decolonizing and building community in higher ed that carries into providing holistic support to first-gen, limited-income college students of color. Outside of work, she loves spending time con la familia, learning how to garden and listening to Bad Bunny and Anderson Paak.
