While at the Community College of Aurora, Chris (He/him/his) has been recognized for his outstanding service to both the institution and students by being named the Faculty of the Year for 2015-2016 and a Complete College America Fellow. His passion to make course material and the college experience accessible and understandable to all students continues to drive him today. From December 2017- August 2019, Chris served as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs for the School of Professional Studies and Sciences at CCA. He helped oversee the Career and Technical Education and STEM programs throughout the college. He served on several committees that are devoted to student success, including leadership in the Guided Pathways and co-chairing the Hispanic Serving Institution committees. Currently, Chris serves as the Program Director for STEM, Arts, and IT for Colorado Career and Technical Education. In this role, Chris oversees curriculum related to these areas at the middle school, secondary, and postsecondary levels in the state. Chris currently serves as co-chair of the Data and Policy Steering Committee for COCEAL.As a first-generation college student, Chris understands the challenges students face trying to navigate the collegiate system. This first-hand experience helps Chris look for cost-effective ways to help students succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

From admission to graduation, Chris is committed to keeping the process as transparent as possible. Outside of work, Chris enjoys being active as a coach at CrossFit Terra Nova, paddle boarding, and taking advantage of Colorado’s vibrant music and entertainment communities (check out Su Teatro!).
